About the Role

Position: IG2 – Administrative Assistant – Canadian Improv Games

Desired Contract Term: 26 Weeks     Start Date:  January 19, 2025  End Date: Initially to the Province of Ontario’s current fiscal year ending, March 31, 2025. Additional weeks, ending after 26 weeks is pending the Province’s approval of our fiscal year (2026-2027) JCP program agreement.

Work Schedule:  4 business days / 32 hours per week  Work Location:  Westboro office + some hybrid availability

Job Summary: This position is funded through Ontario’s Job Creation Partnerships (JCP), see more details below. Reporting to the program manager and the operations manager, this position assists in the daily operational and administrative functions of the Canadian Improv Games to ensure the efficient operation of the office and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative support to management and staff.

  • Manage and maintain manual and computerized information filing systems.

  • Prepare, edit, and proofread correspondence, reports, presentations, and related material.

  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and events, and prepare detailed minutes of meetings.

  • Answer and direct general inquiries, handle email correspondence, and act as a point of contact for internal and external clients.

  • Order and maintain inventory of office supplies.

  • Assist in preparing final reports and make recommendations.

  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • College or University education

  • Training or previous experience in an administrative role, office management, or a related field

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Is a team player

  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive) is essential

Additional Qualifications Required:

Candidate eligibility for JCP is determined according to the following criteria:

  1. An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week.

  2. A resident living in Ontario who is legally authorized to work in Canada.

  3. Meet at least 1 of the following criteria:

  4. Has an established Employment Insurance (EI) benefit period.

  5. Previously established an EI benefit period that has ended within the previous 60 months.

  6. Paid employee EI premiums (e.g. Box 18 on the T4) in at least 3 of the last 10 years while earnings have been at least $2000 in each of those years.

NOTE: Persons currently enrolled in full-time academic studies are not eligible for consideration. Those who qualify to establish an Employment Insurance (EI) claim must do so prior to being considered for JCP participation.

Remuneration:

$704 (gross) per week paid biweekly by the Province of Ontario (average hourly rate: $22.00 based on 4 days/32 hours).
