POSITION: CB4 - Marketing and Communications Assistant- Chamberfest

DESIRED CONTRACT TERM: 26 Weeks      START DATE: April 13, 2026   END DATE: October 9, 2026

WORK SCHEDULE:  4 business days / 32 hours per week  WORK LOCATION:  Downtown

JOB SUMMARY: This position is funded through Ontario’s Job Creation Partnerships (see eligibility details below). Reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager. Assists with the implementation of Ottawa Chamberfest’s 2025 Festival Communications plan with a focus on website and social media outreach.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, collect, collate, edit, and track Festival artist marketing material (biographies, photos, videos) in collaboration with the Artistic team;

  • Assist in the planning and creation of dynamic written, graphic, and video content for Chamberfest’s social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other relevant platforms;

  • Support the development and distribution of e-newsletters to Chamberfest patrons;

  • Assist in the creation and building of event and artist pages for Wordpress website;

  • Create content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on company sites, and encourages audience participation including Facebook events;

  • Work with the Marketing Manager in response to public comments (i.e. questions, statements) driven by social media posts

  • Additional duties as required.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication including proof-reading and editing skills in English; French an asset

  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Experience with Wordpress, MailChimp, and Adobe Creative Suites (In Design & Photoshop) is an asset

  • Enthusiasm for the organization, the artists, the event, and the patrons

  • Accessibility Training is an asset or will be provided via AODA online training

  • Additional language skills are an asset

Additional Qualifications Required:

Candidate eligibility for JCP is determined according to the following criteria:

  1. An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week.

  2. A permanent resident living in Ontario who is legally authorized to work in Canada.

  3. Meet at least 1 of the following criteria:

  4. Has an established Employment Insurance (EI) benefit period.

  5. Previously established an EI benefit period that has ended within the previous 60 months.

  6. Paid employee EI premiums (e.g. Box 18 on the T4) in at least 3 of the last 10 years while earnings have been at least $2000 in each of those years.

NOTE: Persons currently enrolled in full-time academic studies are not eligible for consideration. Those who qualify to establish an Employment Insurance (EI) claim must do so prior to being considered for JCP participation.

Remuneration:

$704 per week paid biweekly by the Province of Ontario (average hourly rate: $22 based on 4 days/32 hours).
