About the Event
Experience the classic 1929 silent horror film The Phantom of the Opera with an original soundtrack provided by digital accordionist Michael Bridge, including the sounds of full pipe organ, all 100% live.
Michael Bridge is a 21st-century musical maverick, toppling popular expectations of what it means to be a professional accordionist. He creates custom sounds for his digital accordion that let him produce effects you’ve never heard from this instrument before: from drums to lasers, choirs to synths, and much more. He’ll create a live stunning soundtrack while you enjoy The Phantom of the Opera on the big screen!
The Phantom of the Opera (1929) is a silent horror film about a mysterious, disfigured man living beneath the Paris Opera House who is obsessed with a young soprano, Christine Daaé. As he terrorizes the opera house to make her a star, a love triangle and deadly drama unfold. The film is best known for Lon Chaney’s haunting portrayal of the Phantom, with makeup so shocking it caused some audience members to faint.
Looking for an excuse to dress up? Come in costume and make an entrance worthy of the Phantom! Halloween is just around the corner, so costumes are very much encouraged. Arrive to the screening of your choice dressed to impress, haunt, or horrify.
