About the Event
Performed in the natural amphitheatre of Gemmill Park, Celtfest is a 3-day family-friendly festival that celebrates the historical Celtic traditions by showcasing local performers, features out of town artist, offering unique artisanal vendors and wares, and creating an atmosphere of community and heritage.
All three days of the festival are by-donation to celebrate the 30th edition of Almonte Celtfest.
Festival: Enjoy 3 days of family-friendly music and dance on the main stage in Gemmill Park!
Friday: Friday in the Park is presented by Cavanagh Foundation and fetures Graham Lindsey & Friends and Lennie Gallant.
Join us as we open the festival with help from the local Legion Pipe and Drum Band and Mayor Lowry!
Saturday & Sunday: Please check out our website and socials for performance schedules and times. You will find acts like Leady, Derina Harvey Band, Bon Débarras, Kelly Sloan & Jig, Joe Ray McDonald Band, Cr5 Bluegrass, Alise, Cécilia, Nichols School of HIghland Dance, Barley Shakers, Ottawa Celtic Choir, Chelsea June and the Woven Ones, and more.
Workshops: Would you like to learn a new instrument or hone your skills? This is your chance to participate in a music workshop lead by professional musicians. Register through our website.
Buskers: Whether you are shopping or looking for a bite to eat in beautiful downtown Almonte, we have some entertainment to keep your ears busy! Featuring a collection of local talents, our busker tents will draw you in and expose you to new voices and performers while you shop and explore.
Ottawa Gaels: Become a spectator and learn something new! The Ottawa Gaels will be onsite with their Adult and Youth teams to participate in their annual Celtfest Tournement in Gemmill Park. Catch a glimpse of Gaelic Football and Hurling and see if you can keep up with the rules.
Youth Showcare: Back again for 2026 is our youth showcase! Taking place on Sunday July 5th, a group of up-and-coming performers take over the main stage for their moment in the spotlight!
Little Celtz: Open all weekend long and featuring a vairety of activities for our youngets guests! A face painter will be on-site Saturday July 4th and Sunday July 5th from 12-4. There will be yard games, crafts, and many other activities to keep the Little Celtz occupied all weekend-long!
The Celtic Maket: Explore the Celtic Market in Gemmill Park! Shop the makers and artists, indulge in sweet treats, grab some lunch, enjoy a cold lemonade or a cold brew! We have something for everyone and every taste.
Tartan Exhibition: In partnership with The Mississippi Valley Textile Museum, Celtfest has curated a collection of Tartan and Kilts to explore the history and story of this iconic textile. Running from May 2nd to July 26th in the upper exhibit room of the museum, the display features kilts of many patterns, housewares, and accessories. Entrance to the museum is by-donation and please check their website and socials for opening hours.
Kiltmaker Session: Saturday July 4th 10am-12pm. Have you ever wondered how a kilt gets made? Have you seen someone put on a Great Kilt? Do you have an old family heirloom tartan that needs some love or adjustment to bring it back to life? Join us for a 2 hour interactive (and free!) session with Marshall Bespoke Kiltmakers and take a deep-dive into the world of kilts and tartan. Open to all, family-friendly, interactive - a great way to start your Saturday before heading to Gemmill Park for the festival!
