Position: DI1- Festival Assistant- Digi60 Filmmakers’ Festival
Desired Contract Term: 26 Weeks
Start Date: September 1, 2025 End Date: February 27, 2026
Work Schedule: 4 business days / 32 hours per week
Work Location: Hybrid: Own Home and 2 Daly Ave. Office
Job Summary: This position is funded through Ontario’s Job Creation Partnerships (JCP), see more details below. This position reports to the Festival Manager and Chair of the Board and supports the festival’s annual events.
Responsibilities:
● Respond to emails and inquiries regarding the festival
● Create and maintain a list of volunteers, leading volunteer outreach.
● Supporting the Festival coordinator and programmers with on-site event support during live events including event kick-off, festival launch and festival screenings.
● Create, disseminate, and collect the festival feedback survey post festival.
● Liaise or outreach to festival partners and sponsors, communicating via email or phone, supporting meetings with VIPs as needed.
● Support or work in conjunction with Social Media & Communications Assistant as needed.
● Attend team meetings or events in an engaged way.
● Meet regularly with the festival team and festival board to organize priorities and give feedback.

Skills and Qualifications:
· Proficient with Google Business Suite
· A people person who is positive, responsible, respectful, and enthusiastic
· Well-organized, works well under pressure and independently if needed, takes on projects simultaneously and autonomously.
· Excellent oral skills in English; French is highly desirable.
· Experience in arts administration, event management or the arts and culture sector would be considered an asset.
· Passionate about Ottawa’s independent filmmaking community an asset
Additional Qualifications Required:
Candidate eligibility for JCP is determined according to the following criteria:
1. An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week.
2. A permanent resident living in Ontario who is legally authorized to work in Canada.
3. Meet at least 1 of the following criteria:
a. Has an established Employment Insurance (EI) benefit period.
b. Previously established an EI benefit period that has ended within the previous 60 months.
c. Paid employee EI premiums (e.g. Box 18 on the T4) in at least 3 of the last 10 years while earnings have been at least $2000 in each of those years.
NOTE: Persons currently enrolled in full-time academic studies are not eligible for consideration. Those who qualify to establish an Employment Insurance (EI) claim must do so prior to being considered for JCP participation.
Remuneration:
$688 (gross) per week paid biweekly by the Province of Ontario (average hourly rate: $21.50 based on 4 days/32 hours).
