Carolyn has worked with OFN for more than a dozen years in an HR and Finance capacity and has had the privilege of meeting several thousands of Ontario’s job seekers through the Job Creation Partnership employment program. As a proud Nova Scotian, Carolyn strongly encourages everyone to have this area of the country on their travel bucket list! Carolyn holds a Paralegal Diploma and a Bachelor of Commerce degree and previously held employment in the telecommunication, energy, and employment support sectors. Outside the office, Carolyn’s passions include travel, sailing, cross country skiing, and of course hanging with her husband, two young adult kids, and the cutest biewer terrier named Skipper. If you cannot reach Carolyn, she’s probably where she usually is every day, at the Movati gym taking in a yoga, zumba, or step class!
Janine Kivell (she/her)
Membership Services Coordinator
Janine has worked for OFN for over 5 years in Membership and Business development roles. She was born, raised and educated in Ottawa and holds a diploma in Business Administration. She has travelled and lived in many parts of the world. Her 3 boys were born in Calgary and shortly thereafter the whole fam was transferred to Boston, Massachusetts with a high-tech company. She was there until the kiddos reached middle school and then returned to Ottawa where she took up publishing as an entrepreneur and then segued into membership development roles. Janine has strengths in building and managing business relationships and has a natural compassion and empathy for people. These strengths lie in her ability to bring people together to achieve a greater good.
Hayley Combaluzier (she/her)
Hayley has worked with OFN since November 2021, building on her past experience in marketing, communications and project management within the non-profit sector. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Carleton University and a Master’s degree in Global Development from the University of Copenhagen. With a passion for fostering inclusive, sustainable, and creative community spaces and experiences, she is always on the look out for local businesses, artists, and events to support. She enjoys photography, dance, getting outside with her dog, and travelling. She has lived and worked in four different countries and has travelled to 25 others, learning lessons about herself and the world along the way.
Human Resources Assistant
Brenda Simbi Kamanzi is a recent Public Relations grad who was born in Kigali, Rwanda and grew up in Ottawa, Ontario. Past work experiences have given her the skills to be a person who enjoys or is particularly good at interacting with others. These certain skills have made her lean towards the more social side of PR like media content management that gives you the opportunity to connect with clients and brand ambassadors to help them with their online relationships with the public. In her free time Brenda enjoys painting, reading, going on nature walks, watching Netflix and spending quality time with family and friends. Overall, Brenda has great social skills, a positive attitude, and determination that will help her thrive in her career.
Muna Aden is a recent journalism graduate from Algonquin College. She also studied public relations and communications and is currently a communications assistant working with the GetFestive team at Ottawa Festivals. Muna’s worked multiple jobs in the field in an effort to find a strong sense of passion in her work and writing combined with social media have been the two aspects of work that she’s enjoyed. Having lived in Ottawa her whole life, Muna has developed a deep appreciation for the city and a want to share that with the rest of Ottawa.
