The 6th Annual Wakefield International Film Festival (WIFF) continues to offer the very best in current documentary film. This weekend, February 14 & 15:

The Green Prince (2014) is a taut thriller of a spy film - and true. An Israeli Shin Bet agent recruits the son of a high-ranking Hamas leader as a prized informant for the Israeli cause - and risks his career to protect him. From the creators of Oscar-winning Man on Wire and Searching for Sugarman. "Terrific. As gripping as a high-concept Hollywood thiller." Manchester Guardian   Best Documentary, World Cinema - Sundance Film Festival trailer (YouTube) The Secret Trial 5 (2014) tells the story of five men incarcerated for a total of nearly 30 years without charge and without ever seeing the evidence against them. Under Canada's controversial 'security certificate,' this Kafkaesque situation is legal, and has been upheld by the Supreme Court. "If you think 9/11 had little impact on the individual rights of Canadians, The Secret Trial 5 will change your mind." Susan G Cole, NOW magazine Top 10 Audience Favourite - HotDocs, 2014; Audience Choice - Amnesty International Film Festival, Vancouver Following the screenings of The Secret Trial 5, there will be a panel discussion.
