2015 Capital Vélo Fest Tour La Nuit

The fifth annual Capital Vélo Fest Tour La Nuit is fast approaching! Early bird pricing ends this week, on August 23rdso Register today to get the best rate on adult, family and youth passes. We are anticipating over a thousand riders and our new autumn date will provide early darkness for this enchanting night time ride. Come early on Sept 25th to Ottawa City Hall to connect with the cycling community, dress up your bike in our gear zone, grab some food and refreshments, enjoy the entertainment and bid on some of our silent auction items featuring cool cycling products and services from our partners. Click Here to Register with Early Bird Pricing until August 23rdThe Route The 20km cycling route through Ottawa streets will start off with cyclists traveling alongside the Rideau Canal, Ottawa’s UNESCO world heritage site, and then wind through the Experimental Farm. Experience the magical sight of thousands of lit up bikes across the darkened fields of the Farm! Volunteers and police will be present along the route to help ensure a smooth ride, and watch for live entertainment and animators scattered along the route to keep your spirits high. Check out the route map for more details and remember to register today! Volunteers To host the Tour La Nuit, we require the help of many volunteers. Become part of our Hype Team, an Ambassador on site, or join our Road Safety team to help close the roads and get an up close view of all the bikes and their riders as they pass by you. Volunteers will receive a t-shirt, some cycling gear, a free SMOOCH and share in the camaraderie of enhancing the cycling karma in Ottawa. All positions are eligible for educational institution volunteer requirements, so if you know of a student who would like to build their hours in a fun, active environment, point them to our Volunteer Registration page (link to registration). Full details about our volunteer positions are on our website. Pimp Your Ride on Facebook Find our event and community pages on Facebook  and participate in our Pimp Your Ride challenge! Decorate your bike in advance of the Tour La Nuit, take a photo of your bike and post it our Facebook page. The best entries will be invited to be part of our VIP riders during the event.  VIP riders will receive a special kit for some last minute sprucing up of your bike, enjoy a free ride in the Tour La Nuit, and be part of the lead procession at the start of the ride on September 25th! Capital Vélo Fest In The Community Capital Vélo Fest will be at Hub Ottawa's annual Hub and Spoke event (August 26that 5:30pm) which focuses on all the awesome events in Ottawa in the fall. We will provide information about the Tour La Nuit, have SMOOCH on hand for some delicious fruit smoothies, and you will be able to get your Tour La Nuit tickets at special event pricing. Capital Vélo Fest will be helping to welcome new university students to the city at Ottawa U’s 101 week, and encouraging them to ride their bikes more often as they explore the city. Students will be able to partake in some cycling skill challenges, get information about cycling in the city, and enjoy a SMOOCH as part of their introduction to university life. Come join us on Saturday September 12that TD Place at Lansdowne Park for the 3pm Ottawa Fury game. The fantastic Fury are undefeated this season and one of the best teams in their league. We will be site at the game with some cool bike lights on hand for the first 300 people. Soccer fans will have an opportunity to “Feel The Pressure” and possibly win a free family pass to the Tour La Nuit by guessing the tire pressure in our bicycle wheel.
