Membership Services Coordinator

Term: Starting ASAP, ending December 17, 2021 w/ possible extension, TBD

The Ottawa Festival Network (OFN) is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and energetic individual to join our team!

Established in 1996, the OFN advances a dynamic industry through research, advocacy and education. We create an effective networking environment for festivals, special events and fairs in Canada’s Capital Region. A not-for-profit service organization, we work cooperatively with members and partners towards a vibrant, inspired and prosperous festival capital.

Job Summary:

As the member liaison, the Membership Services Coordinator is responsible for member recruitment and retention and the development and delivery of member events. This position is for a true connector – a creative and passionate relationship builder – who thrives in a team-oriented environment. You have a “can-do” attitude, good judgement and instincts, and have a solid communications and administrative track record. Working closely with the Executive Director, and our research and communications team, this role also supports organizational partnership development, and is integral to member and industry insights gathering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains relationships with prospective and existing festival, fair and event members, as well as corporate members
  • Manages and actively participates in the membership orientation and renewal processes
  • Represents OFN at member and other industry events
  • In partnership with the OFN team, plans and delivers the member programs and events (virtual, hybrid, in-person – when applicable)
  • Develops and maintains regular member communications through in person and electronic means including writing newsletter content, email, event announcements, marketing collateral, etc.
  • Performs related administration such as spreadsheet and report creation, data collection and presentations
  • Supports member research and other member program activities as required
  • Supports member activities via the OFN member portal, Member365

Desired Traits, Skills and Experience:

  • A degree or diploma in marketing, business administration or relevant field of study
  • Three to five years’ related experience
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Friendly and approachable, proven relationship building and networking skills
  • Marketing acumen, driven to succeed, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with the local festival industry is an asset
  • Extremely well organized with an impeccable attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge Adobe Illustrator and WordPress is desirable
  • Ability to work in French is an asset
  • A driver’s license with access to a vehicle is required for this position

Working Conditions:

  • 35 hours per week/$1,650 bi-weekly
  • 1.25 vacation days for each completed month’s employment
  • Monday to Friday regular business hours, however, flexibility is required to attend evening and weekend events as needed
  • Telecommunications allowance
  • Company mileage reimbursement
  • While the OFN team is currently working remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this opportunity provides an ongoing flexibility for remote and in-office work
