Equity, Diversity + Inclusion + the Festival Industry: A Roundtable Discussion

OFN is hosting a festival industry-wide Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Roundtable. This is an initial step to better understand what emerging best practices are happening today, and how OFN can better support the industry to achieve goals.

All members are encouraged to attend, and more than one person per event can participate. There is no cost to attend.

We thank and welcome our Honorary Chair, Councillor Catherine McKenney, at this important industry roundtable. Councillor McKenney’s Somerset ward hosts the vast majority of local festivals. Catherine is the City of Ottawa’s first openly trans and non-binary councillor, and is widely recognized for activism supporting 2SLGBTQ+ rights.

Come and learn about some of the industry’s recent activities and success stories, share yours, or feel free to come and just listen if you are still sorting out what equity, diversity and inclusion practices you can bring your event and/or organization.

This roundtable will be facilitated by bilingual facilitator, speaker, coach and mediator Karima Kara, a diversity and inclusion expert with iexpressions.

When: November 5, 2019 | 3PM – 6PM
Where: Honeywell Room, Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue
