Public Unveiling Ceremony
Special Event June 30th, 2010

Canada’s National Arts Centre is thrilled to welcome Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to the public unveiling ceremony of the Oscar Peterson sculpture.  The National Arts centre in collaboration with The Oscar Peterson Sculpture National Committee has commissioned a life-sized bronze statue of the jazz pianist created by renowned artist Ruth Abernethy.

Gregory Charles will host, the Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir will sing, and Oliver Jones will play Oscar Peterson’s “Hymn to Freedom.”
