Tafelmusik introduces new music director Elisa Citterio to Ottawa at Chamberfest Concert Series

Acclaimed baroque orchestra will perform all-Vivaldi programme Mar. 22

Considered one of the world’s top orchestras by the Gramophone Magazine, Toronto’s Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra will re-introduce themselves to the National Capital Region in their first Ottawa concert featuring new music director Elisa Citterio.

Led by Citterio, a violinist plucked from Italy by the renowned orchestra in the summer of 2017, the seventeen-piece baroque ensemble will perform a new all-Vivaldi programme: Vivaldi Con Amore. It features the Italian composer’s most romantic pieces, including the “L’amoroso” violin concerto.

The following morning (Mar. 23), Citterio and the orchestra will perform a school concert for more than 200 elementary and secondary students from across Ottawa.
