Dec 4, 2018 | Announcements and updates Festival News
RBC Bluesfest organizers today announced three early lineup additions for July 5, 2019―Eric Church, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, and Colter Wall―increasing the buzz created by an earlier confirmation that Backstreet Boys are coming to the ‘fest on July 14. The festival runs from July 4 to 14.
Organizers also announced a ‘pre new year’ holiday sale that begins Tuesday, December 4 and runs until Monday, December 24 at midnight. The sale will include early-bird pricing on full festival passes (including VIP Club) and general admission day tickets for July 5 and 14. The offer is available on-line only at: ottawabluesfest.ca.
When asked why the early announcement for these acts, Mark Monahan, the festival’s executive and artistic director said it was a nod to the Holiday spirit. “We often have fans request tickets to give as holiday gifts. Announcing these big names presents patrons with a preview of what to expect for our 25th anniversary in 2019. What better way to celebrate this milestone than to offer fans a chance to give the ‘gift of Bluesfest’ to friends and family. We usually hold off until the new year to announce our preliminary lineup, but we thought a holiday sale would add some fun to the process. We’ll still be coming out with much more in February,” says Monahan. Monahan also notes that fest fans are aware of the fact that buying early guarantees best pricing.
