RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest organizers were able to offset soaring temperatures and a prolonged dry spell with yet another spectacular line-up of world class talent. Massive crowds attended the 12-day event—taking in the likes of Skrillex, Alice Cooper, Iron Maiden, Snoop Dogg, Seal, John Mellencamp, and hundreds of others—while soaking up the sun, along with thousands of gallons of free water provided by the festival.
“Putting on an event this size always presents a number of challenges, but I’m not going to complain about too much sunshine,” says Bluesfest executive director, Mark Monahan. “The bottom line is the hot weather combined with a great lineup added up to an extremely successful outcome; especially the walk-up traffic”
The RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest perennially attracts 300,000 music fans, with an economic impact of $30 million,” says Monahan. “We’re delighted by the support of music fans from the Ottawa region, across Canada and around the world.”
