For nearly the last three decades, Jacques Emond has been involved with booking the Ottawa International Jazz Festival, bringing in the likes of Tony Bennett, Wynton Marsalis and Diana Krall as well as lesser-known and local musicians who reflect his broad but distinct tastes.
But Emond, the event’s programming manager, is retiring this year, as the festival marks its 30th annual edition.
The retirement party takes place Monday, March 22, from 7 to 11 p.m., at the National Arts Centre’s Fourth Stage. Ottawa musicians will be jamming and there will be a cash bar. Admission is free.
