Ottawa, May 5, 2009 – Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest organizers today announced several more acts to be added to the preliminary line-up, unveiled two weeks ago.

Seminal west-coast rap icon and one of hip-hop’s best and most controversial artists, Ice Cube is slated for July 14; Canadian psychedelic rock-band Black Mountain will perform on July 17; New York indie art punk sensations, Yeah Yeah Yeahs are in on July 19; and Jack White’s new project The Dead Weather are also lined up for the final day of the ‘fest, July 19.

The festival’s executive and artistic director, Mark Monahan said it’s nice to see the final pieces of the puzzle starting to fall into place. “These are acts we’ve been pursuing for some time. We’re confident that this will add excitement to an already exciting line-up,” says Monahan.

In other Bluesfest news, tickets for a reserved seat for the Ornette Coleman performance in the LeBreton Gallery are now available. They can either be purchased as a day ticket, which is also good for general admission access to all other shows on all Bluesfest stages, that day (July 11); or, fans can purchase a Full Festival Passport with a reserved seat for the Ornette Coleman performance. The Full Festival Passport includes a package of single-day-tickets for each day of the event, along with a reserved seat in the LeBreton Gallery for Ornette Coleman on July 11.

The festival site at LeBreton Flats Park offers a variety of food and merchandise concessions and is fully licensed. See www.ottawabluesfest.ca for complete ticket information and schedule.
