It was Canuck night at the Bluesfest main stage with two bands with their own special public mystique.
I Mother Earth, back in bloom this year after eight years in the arid hinterland of rock — or, more correctly, alternative rock — have been at it on and off for more than 20 years.
It was their role to open for the megabucks Nickelback — the miracle band (so the joke goes) that nobody admits liking, but who have sold millions of recordings anyway.
