Program Coordinator

POSITION: TA2 – Program Coordinator – Job Creation Partnership (JCP) Employment Program

This position is available through the Ontario Job Creation Partnership Program (OJCP), offered in partnership with Employment Ontario. The OJCP program is designed to provide work experience opportunities to those who have received regular Employment Insurance benefits within the last three years, or to those that received maternity/parental leave Employment Insurance benefits within the last five years. DESIRED CONTRACT LENGTH: 26 Weeks

START DATE: January 8, 2018

END DATE: Approved to government fiscal year end March 31, 2018 with the possibility to be approved the full 26 weeks pending Ottawa Festivals’ fiscal year JCP application and approval from the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development. Desired end date: July 6, 2018

JOB SUMMARY: Plans, develops and implement program elements on festival official sites.

REPORTING: This position reports to the Program Director

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting the Program Director, collaborate to the development of the festival’s program of activities
  • Facilitate communications with activity partners, sponsors, and participants
  • Act as point of contact for activity partners
  • Support growth and program development
  • Prepare paperwork and order material
  • Keep updated records and create reports or proposals
  • Support activity partners during set up/take down and during the festival
  • Problem solve on-site
  • Work closely and collaboration with all staff and key Festival partners
  • Adhere to various festival policies and guidelines
  • Complete other program duties as needed

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Previous experience in program management and development
  • Detail-oriented and efficient
  • Knowledge and understanding of the organization’s purpose, goals, and objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Works well under pressure
  • Self-motivated,
  • Ability to work well in a team atmosphere
  • Flexible
  • Bilingualism is an asset
