GARDENLICIOUS – SEPT 22 – 24, 2017

Tasty Food, Wonderful Locations, Vibrant Gardens that Satisfy Your Palate

The days are shorter and cooler as Canadians reach for their sweaters and savour all that the fall harvest has to offer. A good place to start exploring is the Garden Promenade in the National Capital Region during GardenLicious September 22 to 24, 2017.

Here in a nutshell are some of the city’s best Garden-to-Table experiences to enjoy that weekend.

Join Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston at RIDEAU HALL for a culinary fete prepared by the Rideau Hall kitchen brigade and take in the private gardens and residence as well. Non-perishable food donations for Moisson Outaouais and the Ottawa Food Bank accepted. Free admission.

If an urban setting is more to your liking, SOCIAL on Sussex is offering a GardenLicious table d’hote Menu (Reservations recommended). TAVERN ON THE HILL with its spectacular view is also participating as is Novotel’s ALBION ROOMS.

Community-centric THE GREEN DOOR, MAIN FARMERS’ MARKET, OTTAWA EAST COMMUNITY GARDEN all on Main St., are opening their doors with special samples and GardenLicious treats in Ottawa’s east end.

The CIVIC GARDENS AT LANSDOWNE PARK are ripe for a visit with their vibrant colour and presentation of indigenous plants as well as debut of the Victory Garden initiative.  Close at hand is the OTTAWA FARMERS’ MARKET appreciated for its Ottawa-area products only offerings.

Water lovers can head to Dow’s Lake Pavilion where MALONE’S LAKESIDE GRILL and MEXI’S AT DOWS LAKE are offering GardenLicious menu specials. And just west of Parliament Hill along the canal waterway, MILL STREET BREW PUB has a mouthwatering entrée, cocktail and dessert to celebrate the GardenLicious weekend.

Save The Date!

GARDEN FALL RHAPSODY | CHANGING COLOURS OF THE GARDENS | OCTOBER 7-9

Celebration of Vibrant Fall Colours. We think anytime is a good time to visit the National Capital Region (NCR), but autumn is by far one of our most colourful times of year. The tulips and gardens may just be memories in October, but the blazing glory of the deciduous trees and the soft warmth of sun along the Garden Promenade combine into a Fall Rhapsody that is renowned world-wide.  Bring your camera and put your hiking boots on. There is so much to see and explore you’ll want to make this spectacular season part of your annual sojourn to the Capital.

The Garden Promenade is a Canada 150 project led by the Canadian Garden Council in collaboration with Gardens Ottawa.  Garden Promenade is supported by Landscape Ontario, Ontario 150, National Capital Commission, Tourism Outaouais, City of Gatineau as well as our hotel, restaurant and tourism partners who are listed at gardenpromenade.ca
