Overview

Celebrate “A World of Tulips” at the 2018 edition of the multi-award-winning Canadian Tulip Festival

Since 1953, Canada’s most colourful festival celebrates the tulip, Ottawa’s official flower and an international symbol friendship and peace. Our millions of tulips set the stage for a celebration of authentic art, cultural, historic, culinary and family tulip experiences at 5 official venues.

At Commissioner’s Park – Dows Lake – The Garden Tulip Experience, tour the 1 KM stretch of colourful and commemorative tulip beds and learn their history with guided tours or catch the Victoria Weekend fireworks.

At Lansdowne Park – The Art & Culture Tulip Experience find Canadian handmade and international tulip art, photography and floral installations and workshops, cultural displays and international stage performances plus children’s activities all surrounded by thousands of potted tulips.

Head to the ByWard Market – The Urban Tulip Experience and tiptoe through a garden of urban tulip art, promotions and activities created and curated by artist Monique Martin.

Explore tulips and activities across the capital when you tour the Garden Promenade – The Community Tulip Experience. Foodies can sip and sample tulip-inspired culinary treats prepared by local chefs at Zibi Gatineau.

Uniquely Canadian and one of the largest events of its kind in the world!

The Canadian Tulip Festival is produced under license for the Canadian Tulip Legacy, a non-profit charitable organization established to celebrate the historic Royal gift of tulips from the Dutch to Canadians as a symbol of international friendship and preserve the legacy of the role of the Canadian troops in the liberation of Europe and the birth of Dutch Princess Margriet in Ottawa during World War II – the only royal personage ever born in Canada
