From August 10th to 12th, on the LeBreton Flats, Ottawa’s South Asian community will be hosting their first ever “Festival of India”.
For two-and-a-half days, the Nation’s Capital will be the showplace for a colourful, spicy and melodious variety of sights, tastes and sounds from “Incredible India” – including Bollywood and classical dancing, cooking classes, how-to demonstrations (cricket; saree and dhoti tying), yoga classes, henna hand painting and even a traditional wedding!!
And, for the first time, Ottawa will get to experience the vibrant and exciting ‘Festival of Colours’ – commonly called Holi.
