The Jamaican (Ottawa) Community Association presents Jamday 2012 in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence.

Under the distinguished patronage of Her Excellency Sheila Sealy Monteith, High Commissioner for Jamaica to Canada, four days of activities are lined up to celebrate Jamaican vibe and culture:
Monday August 6th - Flag Raising Ceremony held at Ottawa City Hall @ noon
Friday August 10th – Roots and Cultural night at Festival Plaza, 110- Laurier Ave West - 7:00pm – 10:00pm
Saturday August 11th -“Celebrate in “Jamaican Style” with musical performances, contests and games held at Festival Plaza 110- Laurier Ave West – Event start time: 12:00 noon – 10:00pm
Sunday August 12th – Independence Church Service Featuring International Gospel singer Kay Morris Centretown United Church, 507 Bank Street at Bank & Argyle – Event start time: 4:00pm
