A Life Without Music Would B-Flat. Ring In July With Some Major Music Festivities Happening This Month!

Calling all music lovers! Kick off your summer on the right note and have some fun in the sun at these upcoming music festivals this July. Set your trebles aside and prepare for some crescendo because whether you are into classical music, rock, hip-hop and everything in between there is something happening this month specially for you.

Music & Beyond

To begin music festival season in Canada’s capital we have Music & Beyond, which is quite literally music… and beyond. Live music, theatre, poetry, dance, art shows, comedy, magic and even food and wine can all be found at this extravagant 14 day event. Since July of 2010 Music & Beyond has brought tons of fun for people of all ages in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. In 2015 this event was even nominated for festival of the year.

Amazing acts including legendary sopranos Kathleen Battle and Emma Kirkby and world renowned Canadian actor Christopher Plummer from “The Sound of Music” have made appearances in previous years. Starting on July 4th to the 18th revel in some entertainment with classical music from The Kruger Brothers, Pablo Ziegler and many more!

RBC Bluesfest


According to Billboard Mag, RBC Bluesfest is one of the top 10 music festivals in the world. From July 5th to the 15th attend one of Canada’s largest festivals taking place at Lebreton Flats. With three outdoor stages and over 200 performances including Dave Matthews Band, Foo Fighters, Rae Sremmurd and Bryan Adams you are guaranteed an unforgettable time!

Internationally inspired food and beverages will also be available on site including Gabriel’s Pizza, Bonitas Cantina, East India Company, Green Papaya Thai Cuisine and much more.

Almonte Celtfest

Taking place in Gemmill Park in the heart of Almonte on July 6th to the 8th , get entertained with significant Celtic culture. Live Celtic music and acts plus amazing authentic Celtic foods could be the recipe for an awesome outing for you and the family.

This free 2 day event that started back in 1997 is full of local talent and up-and-coming performers. Featured performers for this year’s event include Heather Rankin, Shane Cook and the Wood Chippers and the Steel City Rovers.



Family concerts, midday concerts and chamber chats begin on July 26th to August 9th in public spaces and national museums all throughout the city! This two week event includes venues in City Hall, the National Gallery of Canada and historic churches filled with entertainment for the whole entire family. Marc-Andre Hamelin with Quatuor Danel, James Parker and Nicole Presentey will be attending this year’s event, you do not want to miss out!

HOPE Volleyball Summerfest

Last but not least we have HOPE Volleyball Summerfest happening on July 14th. Seas the day at Mooney’s Bay Beach at world’s largest one day volleyball tournament happening right here in Canada’s capital. With more than 25,000 players, you and your friends can join in on some beach volleyball fun, eat delicious food, have an ice cold drink and even listen to some live music all in one place.

Get ready to tropic like its hot with shows starting at 11:15am. Special appearances from Cold War Kids, Yukon Blonde and many more. 1 day supporting 6 charities including the Children’s Aid Foundation, Special Olympics Ontario, The Ottawa Mission and Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario, you can have all the fun for an amazing cause. Tickets are $20 in advance or $27 at the gate, we hope to see you all there!
