10 of our fave images of 2016

As we closeout our 20th Anniversary year in 2016, we’d like to share our favourite images that were shared with us through the Ottawa Festivals Flickr group (yes, Flickr groups still exist!).

Charles Dillane captured this wonderful image at Capital Ukrainian Festival.

Everyone in Ottawa is familiar with Winterlude’s Ice Hog family. Alan Wainwright caught them strolling through the ByWard Market.

It wouldn’t be summer in Ottawa without celebrating great food, music, dance … and people at the Greek Festival! Marc.Seguin caught the festivities with this great image.

It wouldn’t be a Canada Day celebration without some treats … but we wouldn’t recommend what this fire dancer decided to munch on. Thanks Scott Thiel for capturing the dancer with this spicy snack!

WOW YOW! Alan Wainwright caught this display of Ottawa pride at Polo In The Park held at Ottawa’s Wesley Clover Park.

Stefan Dery caught this shot of the leader of the Preston Street Criterium.

This colourful equestrian display was caught by Alan Wainwright at Glow Fair on Bank Street.

The rings of light caught by Alan Wainwright at this year’s Busker Festival.

Jamie Johnson caught his musician’s view of a performance at the NAC.

Scott Thiel caught the opening ceremonies of the Canadian Tulip Festival held at TD Place Stadium on the Rideau Canal.

Thanks to everyone who shared their images with us in 2016! We’re looking forward to seeing your amazing shots taken during Canada’s 150th in 2017 … and don’t forget to hashtag your images on all social media with #MyOttawa and #GetFestive so the world can see how much fun Ottawa is!
